On September 9, 2022, a significant meeting took place in Tirana, bringing together key figures, including the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and the Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj.
This gathering served as a platform for dialogue between government officials and representatives from business associations and chambers of commerce. The overarching goal was to address and strategize improvements to the business climate in the country.
Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized transparent collaboration with the business sector, addressing critical concerns like the energy crisis and promoting investments in alternative energy sources for cost optimization and environmental sustainability.
Diana Leka (Angoni), Director of the Investment Council Secretariat, emphasized the need for strengthened public-private dialogue. She highlighted the importance of raising institutional awareness of business issues and ensuring fiscal procedure sustainability for a more favorable business environment.
Government-Private Sector Collaboration in Focus
The meeting highlighted the significance of reinforcing dialogue channels between the government and the private sector. Notably, discussions delved into business recommendations, with 32 addressed, 112 under technical review, and 118 still in process. Key issues addressed during these deliberations included fiscalization, digitalization, and reforms in education and employment.

During the meeting, businesses voiced concerns about the energy crisis, legal issues, and labor shortages. This open exchange highlighted the challenges faced by the private sector and allowed for a collaborative exploration of potential solutions.
